Canon lenses for my Canon Digital SLR? You have my attention! And when I find one, I always want it. Most of the time, though, I can’t afford it. I mean, let’s face it, my family really needs to come first, in spite of my intense desires. After all, I am a family guy, first and foremost.

If the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” holds any truth, your wedding pictures will be especially important to you. Many couples mistakenly think of wedding pictures as the staged pictures of the bride, groom and the wedding party. Start thinking of your total set of wedding pictures as a memoribilia that tells a story of a bride and groom’s special day – in preparation for, during and the final moments before the honeymoon.

Black is my second choice for the same reason. You can get some really great shots on the black. You can print them and they can look fantastic. And the other thing is when you cut out an image on black, and if you’re putting it into a black background, once you’re cutting it out, it will blend easier. It will look nicer. So that’s another reason for using the back. But you can still do it with the white.

I especially love this lens for my portrait photography. Shooting between F2.8 and F4.0 with the lens racked out to 180-200mm causes the background to melt away into a creamy blur creating beautiful bokeh on background highlights. This truly is a must have lens.
