As you work with your dog to teach the needed CGC (Canine Good Citizen) skills, you'll discover the many benefits and joys of training your dog. On top of that, training will enhance the bond between you and your dog.
Dogs who have a solid obedience education are a joy to live with, they respond well to household routines, have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs, and they fully enjoy the company of the owner who took the time to provide training, intellectual stimulation, and a high-quality life.
Basic Obedience group dog training will teach your dog the basic commands including heel, sit, stay, down, down/stay, and come. A familiarity with CGC (the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen Training) test items will also be taught, such as accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, allowing to be groomed, walking on a loose leash, walking through a crowd, behaving properly around other dogs, reaction to distractions, and being supervised while separated from the owner.
The basic program involves six weekly sessions. We limit the sessions to a maximum of ten dogs. Older dogs are welcomed also.
